WACA will play host to matches that only draw smaller crowds and Sheffield Shield matches. But the Big Bash League matches will move to the new ground.
The new stadium is expected to be finished by 2018.
This means that the 2017 Ashes, scheduled between November to January, will be the last played on the WACA.
