India’s doubles pair of Jwala Gutta-Ashwini Ponnappa were knocked out of the World Badminton Championship after losing their quarter-final match against unseeded Japanese pair of Naoko Fukuman and Kurumi Yonaoat in Jakarta on Friday.
The 2010 Commonwealth Games winning duo went down 23-25 14-21 in a game that lasted for 46 minutes.

The Indian duo looked out of touch right after losing the first game as the Japanese pair lead the second game from start to end.
Gutta-Ponappa had won a bronze medal at the 2011 World Championship.
