Ranji Trophy: Sriram’s ton guides Andhra Pradesh to 301/6 against Himachal Pradesh

Murumulla Sriram struck a hundred as Andhra Pradesh reached 301 for six in their first innings against Himachal Pradesh on the third day of their Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match in Dharamsala on Friday.


After a washout on Thursday, Sriram struck a 233-ball 105 to help the side reach a comfortable position against hosts. Sriram struck 10 fours during his knock.


Andhra were also helped by AG Pradeep’s 50 and Ricky Bhui’s 46.


For HP, medium pacer Rishi Dhawan picked up two wickets for 98 runs in 27.2 overs.

Hyderabad reach 377/7 against Jharkhand


Akshath Reddy struck a patient hundred but Hyderabad were reduced to 377 for seven in reply to Jharkhand’s 556 on the third day of their Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match in Ranchi on Friday.


Reddy’s knock was the standout effort even though Syed Quadri (73) and Ashish Reddy (54 batting) also made notable contributions to the team’s fighting performance in reply to a

mammoth score.


For the hosts, pacer Varun Aaron was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets off his 23 overs, which cost 98 runs. Rituraj Singh also chipped in with two wickets in his 22 overs.

Assam tighten grip on Goa


Assam remained in control against Goa on day three as Tarjinder Singh struck a fine century for the visiting team in the Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match in Porvorim on Friday.


Assam, resuming at 243 for five and having already taken the first innings lead, went on to declare at 435 for eight.


Tarjinder (119) and J Syed Mohammad (69) were the main contributors to the total.


Goa, who made 175 in their first innings, were 82 for no loss at stumps on Friday with Sunil Desai (42*) and Swapnil Asnodkar (31*) holding fort. They still need to make 179 runs to make Assam bat again.

Kerala take first-innings lead over Tripura


Abhishek Hegde (82) and Rohan Prem (58) struck half-centuries each as Kerala declared their first innings at 301 for nine, taking a 122-run lead before reducing Tripura to 84 for two in their second essay on day three of the Group C Ranji Trophy cricket match in Agartala on Friday.


At stumps, Tripura were still tailing by 38 runs with eight wickets in hand with opener Bishal Ghosh unbeaten on 47.
