BCCI set to replace East, Central zone selectors
The senior national selection committee is set to wear a fresh look in the coming months with the BCCI contemplating two changes to personnel post their Annual General Body in September.
It has been reliably learnt that the new regime is likely to be looking at replacing the incumbent selectors from the Central and East zones.
Former India wicket-keeper Saba Karim is the present representative from the East, while former Uttar Pradesh coach Rajinder Singh Hans is the Central Zone selector. “There could be a couple of changes to the selection panel post the AGM. The selection committee was given an extension of one additional year after the AGM held few months ago but the board is keen on bringing in new faces,” a BCCI official said.
As per the current setup, the selectors are picked for a four-year term but the BCCI does review their performances every year. The committee is presently headed by Sandeep Patil and also includes Roger Binny and Vikram Rathour in addition to Karim and Hans. It’s also learnt that the junior selection committee will similarly be in line for a rejig.
