Pace spearhead Rubel Hossain was on Wednesday named in the Bangladesh cricket squad for the only Test match against India to be played at Fatullah from June 10-14.
Rubel, who missed the second Test against Pakistan last month due to a Grade 1 side strain, is fit to play as he replaces an injured Shahadat Hossain.
Shahadat had twisted his knee during the Test against Pakistan and pulled out after bowling only two deliveries. He has been ruled out for at least six months.
Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim will lead a 14-man side where uncapped wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das has been named as his cover. Rahim, who is recuperating from a finger injury might not keep wickets and that is the reason for naming the 20-year-old in the squad.
The squad boasts of senior players like Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal and World Cup hero Mahmudallah Riyad along with youngsters like Mominul Haque and Soumya Sarkar.
Bangladesh squad: Mushfiqur Rahim (captain & wicketkeeper), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Shuvagata Hom, Taijul Islam, Mohammad Shahid, Rubel Hossain, Jubair Hossain, Litton Das, Abul Hasan.
