Kumar Sangakkara confirms retirement; second Test against India to be last

Sri Lanka’s legendary batsman Kumar Sangakkara ended speculations around his future and confirmed his retirement from international cricket on Saturday at the press conference after the fourth day’s play of the second Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
“This is my time to call it a day,” said Sangakkara told reporters.
Sangakkara will play only two Test in the upcoming three-Test home series against India with second Test being his last. Sangakkara will also give the third Test against Pakistan a miss.
Sangakkara made his Test debut in 2000 and has amassed 12,305 runs from 132 matches, with 38 centuries and 52 fifties with an outstanding average of 58.31.
