Mother ran car service Lalit Modi used for ground transportation of officials
According to the documents, released by Modi on his website, former BCCI president Shashank Manohar chaired a Special General Meeting on July 3, 2010.
In a case of conflict of interest involving Lalit Modi, documents submitted to the Disciplinary Committee of the BCCI suggest that his mother Beena Modi was a majority shareholder in the company Travel House, which was engaged by the league for ground transportation of officials.
According to the documents, released by Modi on his website, former BCCI president Shashank Manohar chaired a Special General Meeting on July 3, 2010.
According to the minutes of the meeting, Manohar is quoted as saying, “The company, Travel House, engaged by IPL, has raised a bill of over Rs 1 crore and out of this, the expenses for Mr Lalit Modi alone are about Rs 40 lakh. This is for the use of Mercedes and BMW cars by Lalit Modi.”
He said “the BCCI-IPL had engaged and used the services of a travel agency, in which Mr Modi’s mother was the chairperson and held 67 per cent of the share”.
