IPL spot-fixing: Delhi court drops charges against S Sreesanth and two other cricketers

The accused cricketers in IPL spot-fixing case: S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, were discharged by a Delhi court on Sunday.

The court dropped all the charges against the cricketers who were part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise when the scam broke in May 2013. Sreeshanth is said to have broken down in the court as soon as the court dropped the charges against him, he later on thanked everyone for the ‘continued support.’ “I will be back playing for India,” he said.

Earlier in an interesting development, Delhi Police moved an application as they seeked a further investigation into the case in the wake of the historic IPL verdict.
The police named 42 accused in its charge-sheet among whom six are still absconding.
