All-round Gurkeerat Singh steers India ‘A’ to tri-series title

India A defeated Australia A in the final of the tri series by 4 wickets in a pulsating encounter on Friday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
All-round performance from Gurkeerat Singh led the hosts in a tense chase who first picked two Australian wickets and then scored 87 runs off 85 balls. Some solid contributions from Mayank Agarwal (32 runs off 29 balls) and Kedar Jadhav( 29 runs off 36 balls) too help them chase down the modest total of 227 runs set by Australia.

Earlier the visitors won the toss and opted to bat. Usman Khawaja led from the front as he scored 76 runs off 88 balls. But once the opening stand broke, wickets kept tumbling and they were restricted to a total of 227/9.
