Additional commissioner of police (west) CH Prathap Reddy said that Mishra told police that he assaulted his female friend over her entering his hotel room in his absence.
The Ashok Nagar police registered a criminal case against Mishra on September 27, based on a complaint lodged by the vitim. She alleged that she was abused by Mishra in vulgar language and assaulted with a kettle in the hotel on September 25, when Mishra was in city for cricket training.
Last week the police issued a notice to Mishra, asking him to appear before them within a week in connection with a complaint filed by a Bollywood movie producer who has alleged that the leg-spinner physically assaulted her.
