Alarmed by the crowd trouble that marred the second Twenty20 International between India and South Africa in Cuttack, the Kanpur police has barred fans from bringing water bottles and tiffins in the opening one-dayer on October 11.
The crowd trouble in Cuttack resulted in a couple of stands being vacated for the match, which South Africa won by six wickets, to be completed.

The incident has prompted the Kanpur administration to take preventive steps, which include putting up a 10 feet net in front of the stands to ensure that any object thrown by fans does not reach the ground.
“Water bottles, tiffins and any metallic object will not be allowed inside the stadium,” Kanpur Police SSP Shalabh Mathur said.
