Virat Kohli’s blistering knock of unbeaten 90 runs ensured an emphatic win for India in the first T20I at Adelaide.
India thumped Australia by a convincing margin of 37 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
After being invited to bat first, India posted a total of 188/3 riding on Kohli knock and cameos from Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma. Later, India bowlers bowled a tight length as Australia fell 37-run short of the target.
On the occasion of Republic Day and Australia Day, Twitter was abuzz with tweets about the match and the two occasions.
