SAFF Cup: India beat Afghanistan 2-1 in final to lift title for seventh time

India defeated defending champion Afghanistan 2-1 in the SAFF Cup final to clinch the title for the seventh time in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.
The match stretched into extra-time after the scores were tied 1-1 after regular time. India captain Sunil Chhetri scored the winner in the first half of the extra time.
Afghanistan did try to comeback in the second half but the Indian defence made sure they didn’t concede any goal and win the tournament.
