Arguably one of deadliest bowlers of all time, Michael Holding turns 62. Nicknamed ‘Whispering Death’, Holding never showed mercy to his opponent stroke makers.

He played 60 Test matches where Holding bagged 249 wickets along with 910 runs to his name when grabbing the willow.

The giant Caribbean player had six fifties to his name in the longer format.

It was not just Test cricket where Holding dominated world cricket but was a crucial weapon for his team in the shorter format as well.

Holding dismissed 142 batsmen in his ODI career panning 102 matches.

One of the instance of these brutal spells came in Barbados when the West Indies were up against England. Geoffrey Boycott was facing Holding. The first five balls of the over were ‘used’ to threaten the batsman and the sixth took out his off stump from the ground.

Many more such spells were bowled by Michael Holding and here are some of them.
