16-year-old Malaika Goel shoots silver for India in 10m air pistol event

16-year-old shooter Malaika Goel won the silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow while World number one Heena Sidhu finished on a disappointing seventh.
Singapore’s Teo Shun Xie won gold, while Canada’s Dorothy Ludwig took the bronze medal.
Goel finished with a score of 197.1 points, behind winner Teo’s 198.6 points.
This was India’s fourth silver medal at these Games and the first medal on day two.
Earlier in the day, Goel impressed finishing fourth in qualifying with a score of 378 points.
