Manoj Tiwary, after promising to tell his side of the story, revealed that Sourav Ganguly’s name was raised during the “abusive” altercation with Gautam Gambhir on Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy contest between Delhi and Bengal.
Bengal skipper said he spoke to the CAB president Ganguly after the incident and the former India skipper was hurt after learning the developments.
“I spoke to Sourav Ganguly after the incident and told him everything. Somewhere his name was also raised during the incident and I was very upset about it.

“I felt really bad. I can’t tell you what exactly was said but something was said which hurt me and him,” says Tiwary.
The Bengal captain has been told by the match referee to not speak about the incident as the issue has now reached the BCCI. The right-hander, however, without divulging the details of the argument, said sledging is fine but he won’t listen anything against his community.
“I was very upset about it because we represent Bengal and we don’t want to listen something which is against our community.
“Sledging and competitiveness is good but players should know where to hold on and don’t cross the line. As a community, we don’t want to get hurt,” says Tiwary.
Gambhir’s statement read that Delhi was trying to build pressure after reducing Bengal to 2/2. Tiwary feels all that is fine but Delhi skipper had no right to abuse him.
“They (Delhi) were trying to pressurise me but that doesn’t mean he (Gambhir) has the right to abuse me. There is no need to sledge using father’s or mother’s name,” says Tiwary.
Tiwary further said that Gambhir’s statement — released on Day 3 — was not true.
“I was fined a lesser percentage (40%). Had that (statement) been true I would have been given a larger fine. So that explains what had happened,” says Tiwary.
