Ranji Trophy 2015, Group A: Bengal reach 257/8 against Haryana on Day 1

Half centuries by lower-order batsmen Pramod Chandila and Pankaj Shaw steered Bengal to 257 for eight after they were struggling at 112 for five at one stage on day one of their Group A Ranji Trophy cricket match against Haryana in Lahli on Friday.
Sent into bat after Haryana skipper Virender Sehwag won the toss, Bengal had to fall back on the duo of Chandila and Shaw after the top-order failed to make substantial contributions.
Chandila made a breezy 65 off 79 balls, hitting seven boundaries, while Shaw struck 54 off 107 deliveries with the help of four boundaries and a six.
Sachin Rana was the most successful bowler for Haryana as he picked up three wickets, which included the scalp of Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary (24).
Ashish Hooda and Yuzvendra Chahal bagged two wickets apiece, while there was one for Harshal Patel at the CH Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium.
At stumps, Pragyan Ojha and Ashok Dinda were batting on 22 and 5 respectively.
Chandila shared 64 runs for the sixth wicket with Tiwary and later, Ojha joined Shaw to add 65 runs for the eighth wicket to somewhat rescue Bengal on a picth that aided the bowlers a bit.
Batting at number three, Shreevats Goswami managed 35 before getting out to Rana.
Delhi crawl to 99/1 against Odisha on Day 1
Table-toppers Delhi crawled to 99 for one against Odisha on a day when only 48.2 overs were possible with bad light curtailing play in the Group A Ranji Trophy cricket encounter in Bhubaneshwar on Friday.
Put into bat, Delhi openers, Dhruv Shorey (42) and Gautam Gambhir (35 not out) managed a 74-run stand to give the hosts a firm but slow start.

Vidarbha 227/4 after Fazal ton
Vidarbha were 227 for four after Faiz Fazal shone with a sedate century on the first day of their Group B Ranji Trophy cricket match against Maharashtra in Nagpur on Friday.
At stumps, Fazal was batting on 110 and giving him company was Ravi Jangid, who was yet to open his account at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground.
