Harbhajan Singh hosts reception; Narendra Modi, Manmohan Singh in attendance

A host of celebrities from Bollywood, Team India cricketers and politicians on Sunday graced the high-profile wedding reception of off-spinner Harbhajan Singh at a posh city hotel in New Delhi.
Among the first to arrive at the venue were former India captain and Harbhajan’s one-time teammate Anil Kumble and his wife and former Punjab Director General of Police KPS Gill, who also served as President of the banned Indian Hockey Federation.
Also present at the reception were Indian cricketers Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and his wife, Ravichandran Ashwin and his father, Team India Director Ravi Shastri and Indian Premier League Commissioner and Congress MP Rajeev Shukla and his wife.
Besides out-of-favour Yuvraj Singh and India Test captain Virat Kohli, Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra are on the guest list.
In fact, Yuvraj has taken a break from his Ranji Trophy duties with his state side, Punjab to attend Harbhajan’s reception at the capital.
Just-retired Virender Sehwag is also expected to grace the occasion.
According to sources, it was a star-studded ceremony in the national capital which was attended by more than 1,000 guests.
Harbhajan tied the nuptial knot with long-time girlfriend Geeta Basra in a gurudwara in Jalandhar on last Thursday.
The wedding was attended by some close relatives and friends, including cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and wife Anjali.
Earlier, a mehendi and sangeet ceremony were also held at 35-year-old Harbhajan’s family home.
Harbhajan and Geeta, who has acted in several Hindi and Punjabi films, have had a five years of courtship before they took the marital plunge.
