Australia ‘A’ vice captain Matthew Wade feels the tour to India will be a learning experience for the young players of his team as they look to counter the spin-friendly Chepauk wicket during the first unofficial Test against India A.

“I find the wicket here has a little bit grass and really hard and break up that much but it will definitely spin. You got to experience in conditions like this. It is a great learning experience for some of the young players in our team. But we are ready to go,” said wicket-keeper batsman Wade, who had played 12 test matches for Australia making two centuries and three 50s.

Talking to reporters after practice session on the eve of their first four-day cricket match, Wade said: “It is off season now. Looking to come to form and perform well to get in to the national side. Probably I will put my hands up in the coming season.”

Asked whether every player is fit for selection in the playing eleven, Wade said: “Ashton is coming from a right shoulder operation, his bowling arm. He will be ready to go by the next game. He will not play the first test.”

Australia A will play two unofficial Tests against India A, led by Cheteshwar Pujara, with the first match on Wednesday. The second Test is scheduled to be held from July 29 to August 1 here.
