Veteran Indian tennis star Leander Paes will team up with Spaniard Marcel Granollers in the men’s doubles at the upcoming ATP Chennai Open and the duo has been seeded second for the event starting, January 4 here.

The doubles draw at the 20th edition of the event will feature, along with Paes, Rajeev Ram, Benoit Paire and Borna Coric.

In the previous edition Paes and Raven Klaasen had ended runners-up, losing to eventual champions Yen-Hsun Lu and Jonathan Marray.

Two pairs will be awarded wild cards to play.

Chennai Open will witness a line-up of top talent at the USD 480,000 prize money tournament.

Cutting off at 98, the field for the tournament will see World No. 4 Stanislas Wawrinka vying for a hat-trick of titles, Chennai-debutant World No. 12 Kevin Anderson, World No. 19 and ATP’s Comeback Player of the Year 2015 Benoit Paire, World No. 25 Roberto Bautista-Agut, along with Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, Gilles Muller, Vasek Pospisil, Borna Coric, and Aljaz Bedene representing nine players from amongst the top 50 in the world.

The top-seeded doubles pair for this edition is that of South African Raven Klaasen and American Rajeev Ram.
