DD vs RCB |  Delhi |  Notes from last games

Royal Challenders Bangalore (bt RR)

What went right: Mitchell Starc called Bangalore’s win against Rajasthan as a “complete performance” and it was. Starc gave just 6 runs and picked up two wickets in the 18th and 20th overs to ensure Bangalore had to chase just 131. The spinners too impressed — Iqbal Abdullah bowled well with the new ball and Yuzvendra Chahal took out Shane Watson.

What went wrong: Nothing much really as they bundled Rajasthan for the second lowest total by any team in this tournament and Virat Kohli used the spinners well on a very sluggish track. The only worry is what would happen on a better pitch? Will the spinners be able to rein in?

Delhi Daredevils (bt MI)

What went right: A 154-run partnership between JP Duminy and Shreyas Iyer was the highlight of the 37-run win over Mumbai and fetched them their first win in 10 games at Feroze Shah Kotla.

What went wrong: Nothing really drastic but Delhi will hope that Angelo Matthews the bowler too comes on like his batting. He has good with the bat but Delhi haven’t been able to squeeze out four overs from him regularly in this tournament.

Conclusion

While Delhi have won just one game in their last 10 at the Kotla, it will be interesting to see whether Bangalore’s bowling can be as effective on this batting track as they were on the sluggish surface at Ahmedabad.
