Australia ‘A’ registered their third win in the tri series on the trot beating India ‘A’ by 3 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday.
This was Australia A’s second win over the hosts in the series. It wasn’t as convincing as the first as the wicket was gripping and offering a lot of assistance to the slow bowlers.
Chasing 259 for win, Australia ‘A’ stumbled mid-way as Karn Sharma extracted vicious turn to grab three important wickets of Travis Head, Peter Handscomb and Matthew Wade.

But the 7th-wicket pair of Callum Ferguson and Adam Zampa shared a 80-run partnership to bail out the visitors.
Earlier, India ‘A’ won the toss and opted to bat. Mayank Agarwal picked up from where he left against South Afraica on Sunday as he scored a crucial run-a-ball 61. But his was the only knock of some promise as wickets kept tumbling around him.
Ashton Agar, with figures of 5/39, was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors.
The Unmukt Chand-led unit were struggling to touch the 200-run mark before Manish Pandey (50 off 38 balls) gave the total a much needed push towards the end.
