The shooting incident took place after the minor accident when the shooter’s car hit Akram’s Mercedes.
When the former left-arm pacer asked the driver to pull over, a heated discussion took place and after stepping out of his vehicle, the man sitting at the back of the car opened fire.
The 49-year-old Akram, one of the best left-arm fast bowlers ever to play the game, was on his way to the National Stadium where he was to conduct a training camp for young fast bowlers.
